Q 親が全く英語を話せませんが大丈夫ですか?
A 話せなくても大丈夫です。送迎時の保護者の方への対応や連絡帳でのやりとり、連絡事項は日本語で行います。ネイティブの先生とのやりとりも日本人のスタッフがサポートしますのでご安心ください。

Q 卒園後、すぐに英語を忘れてしまいませんか?
A およそ10歳ごろまでは覚えやすいけれど、忘れやすい時期でもあり、長期的に中断をしてしまうと忘れてしまう可能性はあります。逆に言えば、身に付いた英語は長期的な中断をしなければすっかり忘れてしまうことはなく、およそ10歳ごろになると忘れるスピードも緩やかになると言われています。当園では卒園後も継続して学べるアフタースクールやサタデースクールを設置しており、将来的に英語を使えるようにすることを目的に、維持だけでなく伸ばすためのカリキュラムを用意しています。

A 最初は日本語の中に英単語が混ざるようなこともありますが、成長と共に家では日本語園では英語を使い分けることができるようになってきます。また、水曜日の午前中は日本語の時間を設け、日本語での保育、教育活動やお友達と集団生活をする経験を大切にしています。ただし、日本語を聞き、話す時間は少なくなりますので、ご家庭では日本語でのコミュニケーションを豊かにしていただくようお願いしております。

Q Is it okay if parents don’t speak English?
A Yes, parents do not need to speak English. Japanese is used at drop off and pick up and when writing in the parent/teacher notebooks. Japanese staff are always available to help if needed, when speaking with native teachers.

Q Do students forget English once they graduate?
A It is said that until ten years old it is easy to remember and forget new things learned. If English study is stopped for a long period of time, it may be forgotten. However from another angle, acquired English will not be completely forgotten unless a long-term interruption in study is made. And, the speed in which it is forgotten will be slower after around ten years old. Our preschool offers an opportunity for graduates to continue studying at our After School and Saturday School. We have prepared a curriculum to not only maintain the English level of graduates, but to further extend it.
